Today’s LGBTQ students face increasing harassment, isolation, and violence related to sexual identity, sexual orientation, or other perceived differences. These social pressures can lead to emotional distress, depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide, compromise students’ academic achievements affecting their ability to stay in school. As educators, we can play an important role in ensuring these students receive the help and support they need. The simulation in this course covers best practices in discussing your concerns with LGBTQ youth.
