This course will introduce participants to the 2016 Arts Content Standards. The five artistic disciplines now include media arts standards in order to support artistic literacy in the areas of film, animation, and digital art making. The standards integrate Montana’s IEFA, acknowledging the contribution of native tribes to Montana’s rich artistic and cultural life. This course is being retired, enrollment is closed.

This course will serve as a tool to guide participants and provide resources on Arts Integration. In order to enroll, you must first take the Arts Integration 101 course and get an enrollment key. This course is designed for all grade levels and to be taken in a group of at least 3 teachers to work through the course together. Read more about group courses

This is a closed group course for the members of the Year 3 Cohort.   

This course will help participants learn tools and instructional strategies for integrating the arts into the PK-12 classroom to reach an inclusive group of learners across content areas.  Participants will study the arts impact on cognition and how the arts build habits of mind that support academic success.  Using a blended learning model, participants will work to develop knowledge and skills in arts integration, arts education advocacy, and arts education research and policy that will help them become local leaders in arts education in their schools, districts and communities.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) developed a series of 3 webinars to share instructional resources with Montana teachers. This course provides access to the webinars, as well as interactive activities for teachers to immediately apply the strategies and find the resources discussed in the webinar series.
